South Lyon Senior Portrait Photographer | 2013 Senior Rep Paige

Meet Paige.  She is one of my amazing senior reps.  Paige is a 2013 graduate of Harrison High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  Not only is she very beautiful but she is also a very intelligent and driven young lady who has a very bright future ahead of her.

Paige is very involved at her school and in her community.  She is a member of student council, senior class vice president, president of DECA (Harrison's Business Club) and was Homecoming Queen.  She mentors many girls, of all grades, in school and plays soccer and basketball.  She was awarded the Superintendent Award for all of her involvements at Harrison.  Paige also competed for the title of Miss Farmington in 2011 and 2012.  In 2012 she won the Community Service Award.  This year, she is acting as a liaison to the Miss Farmington candidates and is mentoring them in their community service work.  Paige will be attending Western in the fall and plans on studying finance.  She is also working on creating her own clothing line, Campbell & Co.

I had such an amazing time with Paige during her senior session.  We laughed, goofed off and even managed to take some great shots.  I feel very fortunate to have worked with this charismatic young lady and wish her the best of luck at Western.

Yellowstone National Park | A Back Blog

During our relocation to Michigan, we drove through Yellowstone National Park.  It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  So much color and life!

Out With the Old and In With the New

Today is a day of celebration! The launch of my new and improved website.  It has been a long time coming.  I designed my first website and launched in February 2000.  It was a good website - it got the job done.  But I wasn't 100% in love with it.  I didn't feel like it accurately depicted what my brand and vision is.  Not too mention it was in FLASH and nearly impossible to view on mobile devices.  After an emotionless goodbye and a kick to the curb, I started the new site.  You can see the fruits of my labor at: www.carstenphotography.com.  Please leave comments below and let me know what you think.

So here I am today, again launching my site.  I've spent some considerable time designing and fine tuning it.  Making it finally presentable for you.  But that was not enough for this girl.  I like to go all out!  In honor of the new site, I felt it only fitting to celebrate with a Launch Party.  And by party, I mean SALE SALE SALE!!!

You read it right.  25% off of EVERYTHING!  When you book your session - family, children's, maternity or even {HS} Senior Portraits - for any date in March, April or May you will receive 25% off.  That's 25% off of your session fee AND 25% off of any print or canvas orders.  This offer is only valid through next Friday, March 22nd.  So call to book your session today.

In December, I had an amazing opportunity to contribute to a phenomenal creative publication - Limmie.  Limmie is an Indonesian based magazine, published by Ezzro Media, that showcases creative talents from around the world.  When I was first approached by Ezzro, Limmie's co-founder and publisher, I was excited - giddy even!  I couldn't believe my work was going to be featured in such an amazing collaboration of creative works.  Having my work featured in a publication has been one of my dreams!  I am so very honored and thrilled to be able to share my work with the world.  If you would like to download the latest issue of Limmie to see my interview, please click here or click on the cover image to the left. Thank you!
